CoroGroup is a design and build company based in Whangamatā on the Coromandel Peninsula. We started in 2007 and have delivered 200+ homes across the region.
Three specialist brands operate under one roof: CoroArchitecture handles design and consenting, Coromandel Homes delivers residential new builds, and CoroConstruction takes on high-volume residential and commercial projects. Together, we provide a seamless path from concept to completion, with one team and one point of accountability throughout.
The Big Picture
Our People
Our team includes designers, builders, project managers, and a quantity surveyor. Everyone plays a hands-on role in delivering projects, so you'll always deal directly with the people making it happen.
Our Relationships
Over 15 years we have built strong working relationships with the Coromandel's best contractors, suppliers, and consultants. Those relationships mean better pricing, faster scheduling, and fewer surprises on site.
Our Culture
We're proud to call Whangamatā home. As locals, we build in the same communities we live in, so every project carries our name and reputation. That's why we're committed to delivering quality workmanship, clear communication, and homes we're proud to stand behind.
Core Values
At CoroGroup, people come first. We value strong relationships, earned trust, and the communities we work in. Creating a positive environment for our team and partners allows us to do our best work and deliver better outcomes for every project.
Team Members
Justin Leach
Founder and Managing Director
Justin started CoroGroup and he's still the engine behind it. A builder by trade, he now leads our design team, helping clients turn what's in their head into something real and buildable. He knows this region and the people in it, which means he can navigate the local councils, the contractors, and the quirks of building on the Coromandel better than most. A long-time Whangamatā MTB park local and a family man, Justin fills his life with the good stuff.

Managing Director
Nick White
General Manager
Nick is a qualified and licensed NZ builder who now runs the wider operation, and that mix is exactly what makes him good at it. He's delivered everything from retirement villages to high-end homes, and as co-owner he sets the standard for how we work. His real strength is getting the best out of the team and pulling their skills together for every client. Off the tools, Nick is at the beach with his family, in the surf, up at the MTB park, or on the golf course (usually in the trees).

Jarrod Joslin aka JJ
Head of Construction
JJ is currently leading the build of 480 villas at a new retirement village in Paeroa, alongside residential jobs across the Coromandel. He's an NZ qualified and licensed builder with a pragmatic approach, the kind who knows that what works on site matters more than what works on paper. He keeps things clear, honest, and moving. Outside work, JJ is a family man who'll take any excuse to get out on the water.

Bob Kelly
Project Manager
Bob brings 25 years of large-scale construction management to the team, including major projects in Wellington's CBD. That depth shows up everywhere, on site and across the wider business, and his eye for detail keeps everything tight and transparent for our clients. The same patience carries over to his fishing. Anyone who scores an invite out on the boat comes home with a full bin.

Karl Little
Construction Manager
Karl keeps our builds running on the ground, pulling together crews, trades, and timelines so projects move without the hiccups. With an eye for detail, nothing gets past him - he knows what good looks like at every stage and holds the line there. Calm under pressure and quick to sort a problem, he's the person you want on your site. Karl swapped city life for the coast and hasn't looked back. When he's not on site, you'll often find him up at the MTB park.

A proficient quantity surveyor and project manager, Helen knows what it takes to deliver a great project and does so regularly.

Ray Symonds
Designer/Draftsman
Ray spent over 45 years building high-end homes before moving into design and drafting ten years ago, and he made the switch look easy. That hands-on history means his drawings are grounded in how a house actually goes together, not just how it looks on a page. He stays right up with where the industry is heading, which is rare. Straight up, honest, and practical, Ray is the real deal.

"We had a wonderful experience building our family home with Coromandel Homes. From the start, Justin made us feel comfortable and helped us stay within budget while designing our dream home. The communication was excellent, and we felt fully involved throughout the process. We’re thrilled with the result and would recommend Coromandel Homes to anyone."
